My Reading Prediction.

I have learnt to use pictures to give detailed predictions about the story.

I like predicting because I might be right or wrong and I can learn what the story is about from the front cover.

I'm proud that I did this prediction because it is over and done with.

Caleb B Basic Facts Speed Test

During the week we practise our basic facts for our homework. On Fridays we have a speed test where we try to complete 100 facts in 6 minutes 30 seconds. This graph shows my scores so far.
I like this because I when I get 100 I feel excited.
When I look at this graph I can see that I've gotten 100 most of the time.

Art Portraits

Caleb B
WALT sketch a face by following grid guidelines to make each feature on the face in proportion.

First we drew a picture of what we thought we looked like.
I thought my before picture was not that good because I kept on getting my nose and mouth wrong.

After a few art lessons we learned how to sketch a grid across the shape of our face to help us draw each feature in proportion.

I thought my after picture was pretty good because the lines helped guide me to do my nose, mouth and ears.

Sensory Garden Recount

Reflection on my Recount -
  • Underline where you think you are in your learning of the sensory recount.
  • Remember you are just assessing how well you described your surroundings, using descriptive words or poetic devices.

Extended Abstract
I can help someone else to suggest ways to improve their own sensory recount.

Relational
I can add a poetic device to make it more interesting e.g simile, metaphor or alliteration.

Multistructural
I can describe using more than 2 senses in my recount.

Unistructural
I can describe using at least 2 of my senses in my recount.

Pre-structural
I need help to find words to describe what I see, feel, touch, or hear.

I have put myself in relational because I can connect my writing to poetry and I can use different methods of writing.  My next step is to use better similes and write using more senses. Sometimes some of my writing is at the pre-structural
